Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) face challenges in obtaining financing/loan from Financial Institutions (FI) due to lack or absence of financial records (bank statements or profit and loss statements). Besides weak financial literacy, MSMEs without collateral or poor credit track records may find it challenging to secure business financing.
Through the CGC Developmental Programme™, our Financial Advisory (FA) team assists MSMEs who are unable to obtain a financing/loan.The FA team conducts comprehensive review of loan / financing application by the MSMEs to identify the gaps and provide advice as well as coaching to improve their financial literacy and strengthen their eligibility for future applications.
The FA Team also advises on alternate financing options such as Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Financing companies for applications of loan/financing declined by the FI.
Our FA Team also refers MSMEs to the various capacity building agencies. These agencies are able to help build the MSMEs capabilities and improve their shortfalls.
The main objective of the FA Team is to increase the number of MSMEs obtaining financing/loan. The team broadens the options for MSMEs by collaborating with alternate financiers and capacity building agencies. The progress of MSMEs is consistently tracked and our FA team is constantly looking forward to help them in their entrepreneurial journey.

Read real-life success stories from the MSMEs that have benefitted from our CGC Developmental Programme™.
We were introduced to the CGC Developmental Programme™ by a CGC officer before signing up to be listed for China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) participation in Nanning. It was a great opportunity for MSMEs like us to test the international market. With constant guidance and support from the CGC Developmental Programme team, we are now a step ahead in terms of brand visibility even outside Malaysia. We are now appointing Brunei stockists after appointing some in Malaysia and Singapore. I can see a bright future for our brand.
We submitted our application through imSME but unfortunately based on our company’s condition at that point in time was not qualified to obtain approval from Financial Institutions (FI). Through the recommendation from the Financial Advisory (FA) Team we found out that beside FI, there are other options of alternate financiers like Peer-to-Peer (P2P) which provide legal financing to MSMEs like us. The FA Team recommended us to Fundaztic (a P2P company), our loan application and disbursement went through successfully.
We had successfully applied for a loan from Agro Bank and had CGC as our guarantor, but our real breakthrough only happened when CGC Developmental Programme™ selected us to attend the 15th CAEXPO 2018. It was the big springboard that lead us to the international market. We had made contacts with producers from various countries, learned crucial lessons and gotten valuable feedbacks to improve our products. We are continuously improving our product quality (by acquiring HALAL or other certificates) as a step to get ourselves ready to go international soon.
