1. What is CGC Developmental Programme™?

The CGC Developmental Programme™ is a comprehensive programme for MSMEs that provide advisory and assistance on access to financing, especially those with no collaterals, right up to finding new markets for their products and services.

2. Who is the Financial Advisory Team?

The Financial Advisory Team is a dedicated team that assist the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) who fail to obtain financing/loan by conducting a comprehensive review and diagnosis to identify the gaps, provide advices to improve MSMEs’ financial literacy as well as recommend alternate financiers that are able to provide financing/loan to MSMEs.

3. How am I able to seek advice from Financial Advisory Team?

Upon receiving your business financing application in www.imSME.com.my, the Financial Advisory Team will contact you if your application failed to obtain financing/loan (i.e. fail to obtain product match and/or rejected by imSME’s participating Financial Institutions). 4. How is the Financial Advisory Team able to assist me in getting business financing/loan?

Our business financing advisors will conduct a comprehensive review and diagnosis on the unsuccessful application coming though imSME and provide advisory services such as:

  • Identify the gaps and inform the reason MSMEs fail to obtain product match from the imSME and/or rejection from Financial Institutions.
  • Provide coaching to MSMEs on the importance of maintaining a good financial and repayment track record.
  • Recommend alternate financiers such as Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Financing companies or Other Financing Agencies that may be able to provide alternate financing to MSMEs.
  • Provide business coaching by referring MSMEs to Capacity Building Agencies for related training programs that will assist MSMEs to strengthen their business plan, improve and rectify their shortfall.

5. What is Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Financing?

Peer-to-Peer Financing (P2P) is an online lending platform that connects MSMEs seeking business financing/loan with investors who have available cash for investment. P2P is regulated and licensed by the Securities Commission of Malaysia (SC) and it was launched in 2016 to provide alternate financing to MSMEs besides Financial Institutions.

6. What is Capacity Building Agencies?

Capacity Building Agencies are the agencies that provide business and financial coaching programme for MSMEs’ development and transformation. Upon review of the unsuccessful application, if the MSME is not eligible to obtain financing/loan at this stage, and depending on the issue that needs to be addressed, the Financial Advisory Team will recommend MSME to Capacity Building Agencies partners with the objective to help enhance the capacity and capability of MSME to improve the chance of securing financing/loan.

7. Will I be charged any fee for the services obtained from Financial Advisory Team?

No charge/fee is required on advice/consultation/guidance provided by the Financial Advisory Team.

8. How long do I need to wait for the Financial Advisory Team to contact me upon my submission of imSME application and/or contacted MyKNP?

The Financial Advisory Team will be contacting you within two working days from the date you made enquiries to MyKNP and/or your imSME application’s status fail to obtain product match rejected by participating Financial Institutions.

9. What is MyKNP?

KNP is an acronym for Khidmat Nasihat Pembiayaan (Financing Advisory Services), a service formalised by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) in collaboration with Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad (CGC) and Agensi Kaunseling & Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK). [email protected] is an advisory unit under CGC that provides financial advisory and recommendations to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) who were unsuccessful in obtaining business financing from the banks. [email protected] aims to assist SMEs to improve their eligibilities to secure financing and be informed of the availability of alternative financing. 10. What is Advisory Workshops?

Advisory Workshops are knowledge-sharing sessions by industry experts to enhance the knowledge and skills of MSMEs on relevant topics related to business trends and market. Besides sharing session, there is also a business matching with potential market channel owners for MSMEs to meet and receive feedback on-site.

11. What types of workshops are available under the Advisory Workshops?

There are three (3) types of workshops, which is (i) digital marketing, (ii) branding and (iii) e-commerce.

12. Will I be charged a fee to attend these workshops?

There is no fees or charges to attend the workshops currently. However, seats are limited, and you are advised to register as early as possible to secure your seat to avoid missing out.

13. What is Advisory Access to New Market?

The Advisory Access to New Market is a hand-holding advisory targeted to assist MSMEs to expand new markets (local or international) or market channels via online and offline. MSMEs will be guided via suitable intervention programme to enhance their success.

14. How do I identify a suitable market/distribution channel for my business?

There will be an assessment conducted to identify your product/service readiness and suitability of the product/service before enrolling you into a specific market or channel.

15. Will I be charged any commitment fee to join the Advisory Access to New Market?

You will be informed upfront if there is any commitment fee required from the respective programme.

16. Is there any non-monetary commitment I have to pledge throughout this programme?

This programme is trackable for two years from the date MSMEs decided to join the programme. MSMEs are expected to update their development from time to time i.e., increase in sales, new market expansion, etc. This information is important for our advisors to work with MSMEs to increase the chances of success at the end of the programme.
